Platform footwear came into play in the 15th century in the form of clogs but, they didn't become such a hot commodity until the 80's giving off an edgy look. Now they are back and hotter than ever in the form of boots, shoes, sandals, flats, and sneakers. If it goes on your foot then you can put a platform on it. While platform heels can vary from short to wildly high, they are actually comfortable much more comfortable than a skinny heel. These shoes may seem a little extreme style wise but they have been made to accommodate women who are more dressy than edgy, so they can actually be worn with a nice dress or skirt.
